I both look and sound female. I would say practice and don't get the surgery. The surgery can end up messing up your voice or preventing you from even speaking. You'd rather have your feminine voice than not have a voice at all, I'm sure. If your voice doesn't change with practice, that's okay. I'm a 51 year old man who has always had a feminine voice which I HATE!!!!. I cannot tell you the timespeople think I'm a woman over the phone even when I tell them my name up front. This usually ends with me getting angry. Let now forget doing the fast food drive and getting up to the window to pay and getting strange looks. I'm now in my career where I am considering getting a Master Degree in Nursing Education. This will envolve getting in front of groups of people and speaking which frankly scares the Hell of me. I have consulted with two physicians (family medicine Drs.) who have said "just live with it". I have been on Androgel (testosterone gel) for the past two years with success.
